Pension Activist Update! October 2015
Message from Essex County Education Association
Dear Pension Activist: I’m Anthony Rosamilia, president of the Essex County Education Association and of my local association in Livingston. Thank you for signing up to be a pension activist! Our plan for winning the pension fight starts with electing good people to the Assembly. This is our focus from now until Election Day, November 3, 2015. We need your help! This is important: EVERY candidate we endorsed this year supports us in our fight for full pension funding. They all stood with us on funding the pension in the state budget, on making an early FY 2016 pension payment, on making quarterly pension payments, and on a resolution urging the governor to make a full payment NOW! They stood with us, now we must stand with them. NJEA PAC endorsed the following candidates for the Nov. 3 election: District 27 – MILA JASEY (D), JOHN MCKEON (D) (Caldwell, Essex Fells, Livingston, Maplewood, Millburn, Roseland, South Orange, West Orange) District 28 – CLEOPATRA TUCKER (D), RALPH CAPUTO (D) (Bloomfield, Glen Ridge, Irvington, Newark, Nutley) District 29 – L. GRACE SPENCER (D), ELIANA PINTOR-MARIN (D) (Belleville, Newark) District 34 – SHEILA OLIVER (D), THOMAS GIBLIN (D) (East Orange, Montclair, Orange) District 40 – CHRISTINE ORDWAY (D) (Cedar Grove) District 26 – NO ENDORSEMENT (Fairfield, North Caldwell, Verona, West Caldwell) Over the next several weeks, there will be many election organizing activities in our county. Please make time to come out and join us for as many as you can. As you can see, we have a lot of work to do. Please email me at ecea@comcast.net and let me know which events you plan on attending. Remember, we are all in this together, and together we will win!
